so i dont come home

no money today
no money yesterday
my hunger grows
no pay cheque for you
nothing to show
so i dont come home

my shoes worn bare
look for work to spare
travelling miles
this town dont want me
living in exile
so i dont come home

my belly full
with free water handfuls
my soul empty
exhaustion takes hold
i cry darkly
so i dont come home

back and forth

this weight
held by one
unbreakable
strand
pulls me down
further
inside myself.
if I do not
move
it does not
sway.
a pendulum
of heartache
back and forth
between melancholy
and hysteria.
tightening my fists
to regain balance
forgotten pen,
in hand now broken.
ink flows
from open wound
black thick
thoughts runs on.

gin tears - blues song

i sleep so badly
now you're gone
our bed sheets littered
with broken bottle hazards
because you won

my tears bleeding
soaked mattress
you broke my gin bottle
my clothes are rotten
from the spilt gin

another bluesy song attempt

my shoes tied by wire
to keep me walking
with my tin can fire
to keep me warming

stoked hot and burning
by old photos of you
I'm still yearning

yellow flames purging
our shared memories
until the next morning

as I find more photos of you
and fall in love
all over again with you.

the last danish pastry

Sitting there,
slowly turning stale
why have you been left behind?
I wanted a pastry
but you might
of ended up on the floor.
So maybe not,
as I turn to the
prewrapped sausage rolls

the tea soaked desk

Panic!

I'm falling.
No. Wait, as I release my
grip on the desk.
I just leant back in my chair
after I kicked the back adjuctment leaver off.

my cup

All's Said and Fallen

Secrets smuggled still unheard
in matchboxes
lashed tightly under lit lanterns.
watch them rise as flickering birds
reflected in the dead eyes of curious foxes.

Scream out your frequency
aim up at the sky.
Stopped dead by the verbal boundary
reflected back down to me.

Show me the night sky
where wished laidened
shooting stars come to die.
show me the dead souls
we're unable to console.

Whispers carried in the forest
treeline branches
snagging ambush cut open the loudest.
herded back down to those so biased
those who remain scatter our forgotten ashes.

Scream out your frequency
aim up at the sky.
Stopped dead by the verbal boundary
reflected back down to me.

Show me the night sky
where wished laidened
shooting stars come to die.
show me the dead souls
we're unable to console.

pour one more

Pour the salt on
I said yeah, pour the salt on.
My broken heart still bleeds
dying from what it needs.
I said pour the salt on
I'm done.

Pour me a large one
I said yeah, pour me a large one.
Bye bitter tasting mouth
slipping further south.
Pour me a large one
I'm moving on.

Load my gun slowly
I said load me up slowly.
no chamber spared empty
no coward you'll see.
Load my gun slowly
this misery.

rubix cubed

Camouflage myself

with cottonwool ball attire

in the rooftop clouds

where I’d secretly admire

the outline of your face.

Until i slip and fall

with spitfire arcing grace.

Placed on your knee

this rubix cube puzzle

the only patient one enough

without peeling off coloured squares

to solve me.

Expansion bridging

shouldering your hearts desires

through gritted teeth

burning smoke signal fires

whispers soon faded.

towards other side

move on collect two hundred.

Placed on your knee

this rubix cube puzzle

the only patient one enough

without peeling off coloured squares

to solve me.

Replacement spring

in this worn out jack in the box

still then unopened

now ready for my spacewalk

your jake to your finn.

Adventuring now

our time onwards no trade-ins.

Yours and mine.

shortbread piano love song

Hand written on crumpled paper
from slayed rain forest acres
with extended piano solo,
this love song
Ive practiced on a pretend keyboard.
Made from shortbread fingers
and bourbon creams
in Hong Kong
I'd set all the jazz bars aglow
with songs about my dreams
you, my so adored.

Tinfoil milk lid shakers
those heartbeat rhythm keepers.
This keyboard slowly
crumbles from sweaty touches
as I write toadstool notes
joined together like fairy lights
on pulse settings.
Spelling out in morse code,
my flavour biscuit type.

Bass drumming on biscuit tin lid
rich tea crumbs jostling knocks
harmonic chours lines crossed out,
biro eraser
sustain pedal below at my feet.
Made from rolled up socks
pressed down toes
notes linger
with headline tours soon soldout
this stage I soon outgrow
you, my sure heartbeat.

Tinfoil milk lid shakers
those heartbeat rhythm keepers.
This keyboard slowly
crumbles from sweaty touches
as I write toadstool notes
joined together like fairy lights
on pulse settings.
Spelling out in morse code,
my flavour biscuit type.

Written this song to impress you
I want it to be perfect,
thats why I repeat it over carefully
until its set in my heart
where it belongs.

hidden secrets found

Computers speak
in organised binaray tones
military bunkered
analysts confirm
the launch date
for world war three
is postponed
delayed deaths
for the millions
of soliders unknown.

Those silent orders
from classified departments,
war games played out.
Please for the good of the people
less secrecy
and more transparacy
our world full of doubt.

Humans speak
in auto dead monotones
blog status updates
information gained
by those few
no secrets unheard.
everything known
except those
kept silent in your heart
dont let them corrode.

Those silent orders
from classified departments,
war games played out.
Please for the good of the people
less secrecy
and more transparacy
our world full of doubt.

Computers speak
in scrambled erroring codes
liutenants soon pray
missle countdown
our slow death
burnt to the ground
dropped payload
unheard screams
through our online world
society erodes.

the aftermath

Clock seconds tick
with an ever slowing pace
towards me,
familiar as your boots
over this bare wooden floor.

Cold thick socked toes
missing your warmth
demanding to know,
where you are.

Face covered with
sandpaper stubble, forgotten to shave
left with Homer Simpson muzzle
against which you once would nuzzle
nothing now but sharp corrigated rust.

Left with red eye fall out
since you've gone
crop circle trails
carved out from heavy tears
on salt dried skin.

Fall apart in these dreams
paralysed yet restless
with every lasting gentle
lick against my lips
that taste of you fades.

city bus of woe

this morning stuck on a overloaded bus
the autopiloted commuter run at 8.15
lurches around corners with
piano on skateboard lean,
late for work, all in a rush
hot crispy duck greasy leg
cooked alive
from over eager underseat heater
too stubborn to cough splutter and die.
Thick ear wax slowly melts
from hot mouth breathers over your shoulder
crumpled corners of morning newspapers read
silently you wish other passagers dead
spittoon bucket ding
signalling to stop
the bus suddenly pulls in.
More disgusted gazes upon
yawning faces
as more try to force themselves onboard
through opening doors
like contestants on stars in thier eyes
tonight matthew im going to be the one they all despise
the one with the double childs buggy
and ice cream saber waving screaming kids.
Stuck in traffic red light rages
commuters packed into excape proof cages
cabin fever hot sweats begin
as teens slowly deafen from tinny headphone din.
Stop button pressed with urgancy
crowd surf haul up towards the driver
five stops early gettig off now
bracing for a sharp jolting stop,
commando parachute exit drop
on the pavement catching your breath
no more, no more is your new mantra
walk further, instead of the bus of death.

island path

Numbed slowly to death
this fog too thick
to see through.
Unable to discover myself
as I cant explore
what is here.
Patience worn thin
stomping a heavy path
already, I know where its heading
towards the sharp rocks
below.
Your full beam smile
in this fog doesnt work
unheard gentle calls from you
to guide me.
Still I go in circling fumbled routes.
Scars embedded on my body
as I fight through sharp
overgrown paths.

cardiff town centre

Old scars lazily covered
with flowerbed and tree bandaids.
Your deep green park lungs
clogged with cancer
from smug student disposable bbqs.
My love for you fades.

This place I no longer care,
to remember.
Just kidding yourself
Cardiff town centre.

Square tall apartment buildings
stand eggbox empty like my heart.
Soul sold down the Taff
asbo seagulls
meancing war cry squawk then laugh.
Sitting on wasted street art

Straight from uni deadend job
soul bleeds weekend boozes will renew.
Down St Marys street
the weekend crew
blue jeaned, checked shirt, brown shoed.
Broken feeling inside blue.

This place I no longer care,
to remember.
Just kidding yourself

yes we bellowed

Communication through these overland cables
bond us together,
ropes on what we heave
record our shared fables.
Bind fast, tight,
together we fight.

Neither pirates or castaways
this world nation will be ours
our armardas victorious day.

Yes we bellowed,
yes we bellowed,
shout filled sails.
Our tortured wails
carries us forward
our common man fellow.

Polluted salt water quenches our draining thirst
under a flag united,
storm creeps closing in
these roles we have rehearsed.
arms to deck,
will not ground wont wreck.

neither pirates or castaways
this world nation will be ours
our armardas victorious day

Yes we bellowed,
yes we bellowed,
shout filled sails.
Our tortured wails
carries us forward
our common man fellow.

Yes we bellowed,
yes we bellowed.
Yes we bellowed,
yes we bellowed.

implosion burn out

Burn out continues,
waiting for your red dwarf
fallout death.
Reborn and renews.
One hand to the other hot potato
skin damage scarring,
you burn yet i'll never let go.

The star
that burns brightest,
safe distance out far,
will often burn out
the fastest.

Night sky sags loaded,
a homemade valentines card
glittering.
Glimmer pure, blinded
Oven gloves and wielders goggles
amateur protection,
from this raditing sparkle.

The star
that burns brightest,
safe distance out far,
will often burn out
the fastest.

Envelope all that is around
to keep you
fed and going.
Nothing left for you to consume,
burn out.
